Snow is beginning to taper off with minimal additional accumulations expected. In the wake of the snow winds creasing to around 15 mph late tonight into Monday result in another round of cold wind chills crossed Minnesota. Windchill values will drop to 20 to 35 degrees below zero. The wind may also lead to patchy blowing and drifting snow Monday especially in open areas.
The Winter Weather Advisory has been cancelled. The National Weather Service in Twin Cities/Chanhassen has issued a Wind Chill Advisory which is in effect from 3 AM to Noon Monday. Wind Chill values of around 25 below will begin after 3 AM and lasting through at least midday Monday . Roads will continue to be snow covered as air temperatures drop below zero. Travel may be difficult with winds increasing to around 15 mph with higher gusts will result in some blowing and drifting snow as well on Monday. If you must venture outdoors make sure you are well dressed for the weather conditions otherwise you could end up with frostbite which could lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
Stay warm. J.T.
